The Harnett County Search and Rescue Team is hosted by Harnett County Emergency Management on behalf of the the Harnett County Fire Chiefs Association. This team is made up of volunteer personnel from numerous Harnett County Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement Agencies throughout Harnett County. The combination of law enforcement officers, firefighters and medical personnel that make up the team have completed specialized training to assist with locating missing persons in the wilderness. Additionally, this team is categorized as a state deployable Wilderness Search and Rescue Team through North Carolina Emergency Management that is available to deploy and assist with searches in other counties in North Carolina.
Anyone interested in joining the Harnett County Search and Rescue Team must be affiliated with a Harnett County Fire, EMS or Law Enforcement agency and have their department head, chief or Sheriff approval.
