Keep Harnett Beautiful is a citizen volunteer effort to protect our County's abundance of Natural Resources. KHB plays an important role in watershed protection by keeping Harnett County’s waterways litter-free, ecologically viable, and safe for drinking or other designated water uses.  Volunteers who conduct a litter sweep help by removing the garbage that can harm the water you drink, the wildlife you love, and the beautiful waterways you canoe, fish, and swim in! By volunteering a little of your time, you can make a big impact on our environment and natural resources.

Keep Harnett Beautiful welcomes any willing and enthusiastic volunteers! We work with dedicated citizens, county parks, civic organizations, youth groups, schools, churches, and local businesses to conduct two Litter Sweeps a year. The events are in the Spring (month of April) and Fall (month of October). KHB supplies all needed items to conduct a sweep including picker uppers, neon vests and trash bags.

BEST PART COMING IN 3.....2.......1...... We will coordinate disposal of ALL items gathered during your sweep! Bagged trash, larger items including, but not limited to, tires, furniture, and appliances!

Supplies can also be checked out ALL YEAR LONG! No time is a bad time to coordinate a sweep.

For more information or to sign up today reach out to Morgan Pope, Coordinator at mpope@harnett.org or 919-514-2054.

Conducting a litter sweep can also qualify for volunteer hours and community service hours!
