Harnett County Tax Department to Host Property Tax Reappraisal Community Meetings

Beginning January 27, 2026, the Harnett County Tax Department will host a series of community meetings to discuss the upcoming 2026 Property Tax Reappraisal process. Each meeting will include a presentation on how property taxes are assessed, how to navigate the appeal process, and personal property mobile home reappraisal information.
The 2026 reappraisal processes began in January 2024 as field appraisers reviewed over 73,000 parcels of land in Harnett County including residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial to update property values.
The 2026 reappraisal is the process of updating real property values across the county to reflect the current market value as of January 1, 2026. The reappraisal will consider improvements to the land and the property's condition from the exterior.
These meetings provide an opportunity for residents to:
- Meet with Tax Department staff
- Learn what a property tax reappraisal is
- Understand how reappraisal may impact property values
- Ask questions and receive accurate, helpful information

- Buies Creek Fire Department – January 27, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
- Spout Springs Fire Department – January 29, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
- Northwest Harnett Fire Department – February 5, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
- Resource Center & Library – February 10, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
- Boone Trail Community Center – February 12, 2026 | 6:30 p.m.
- Erwin Town Hall – February 17, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
- Dunn Community Center – February 19, 2026 | 6:00 p.m.
