Harnett County Launches New Code Enforcement Dashboard for Residents

Tuesday, August 13, 2024

Harnett County Geographic Information System (GIS) and Development Services have collaborated to launch a new Code Enforcement Dashboard to provide citizens with streamlined access to various Code Enforcement violation cases.

Development Services uses the Code Enforcement Dashboard to display open building, environmental, and planning/zoning cases with detailed information regarding them.

“Public access to this dashboard allows yet another step towards providing citizens with data in a convenient, accessible way, and allows for more transparency into what work the county is performing,” said Seth Purvis, Harnett County GIS Analyst.

Previously, residents were only able to access information by calling Development Services or emailing staff for the information. This innovative dashboard now makes access information convenient for our residents and staff and provides a central location for all active violations cases with the most important information summarized.

“We recognized there was a need to provide more convenient access to code compliance information based on resident demand. The code enforcement dashboard is an easy-to-use tool that provides direct access to this information, making it an important service to provide the residents,” said Sarah Arbour, Harnett County Planner II.

The new Code Enforcement Dashboard can be accessed by visiting the Development Services webpage on the Harnett County website.

For questions, contact Development Services at (910) 893-7525.

Harnett County is one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina with approximately 140,000 residents. Harnett's tagline of "Strong Roots, New Growth," describes a county in transition, one that values its rural agricultural heritage while also embracing new growth and industry. Harnett County is optimally located just between North Carolina's capital city of Raleigh and the internationally recognized Research Triangle Park to the north, and the nation's largest military installation in Fort Liberty to the south.
