Harnett County Hosts 3RD Annual Community Day August 7

Wednesday, July 17, 2024

Event is free and open to the public

Harnett County will host the 3RD Annual Community Day on August 7 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Government Complex at 455 McKinney Parkway in Lillington, NC. Community Day is an event for Harnett County residents to learn more about the internal and external resources and services available to them. This event is free and open to Harnett County residents.

There will also be bounce houses, food trucks, children’s games and activities, department presentations, and more. Two vendors have also offered to distribute free school supplies, while supplies last.

“I would like Harnett County residents to join us for this wonderful event,” said Desiree Patrick, Community Relations Director. “This is an opportunity for our citizens to learn more about the offerings that are provided in Harnett County. We have vendors that will provide information about free education opportunities, free or no costs services/resources, senior assistance, gardening, children offerings, and much more. This event has something for everyone and is a great family outing.”

Various Harnett County departments will present during allotted times throughout the event, to educate attendees on their department offerings.

Angela Warren, Department of Social Services (DSS) Program Manager at Harnett County, said the goal for Community Day is to help meet the needs of Harnett County citizens.

“As a medium size county, DSS and community partners struggle to get the word out about what we have to offer our citizens. We decided that our goal would be to bring everyone together so people can easily find the resources that would best fit their needs. Residents do not have to leave Harnett County to find resources; we have them right here,” said Warren.

Harnett County is no longer accepting vendors.
