Harnett County Child Support Division to host Canned Food Drive in July to support local families
Wednesday, July 10, 2024
The Harnett County Child Support Division of the Department of Social Services (DSS) is excited to host a canned food drive during July. In response to a growing need for food assistance, the Child Support Division is asking the community to come together to contribute to this important cause.
“People are really struggling during these difficult economic times to provide food to their families, we want to do something to help,” said Angela Warren, Harnett County Child Support Enforcement Program Manager. “In honor of Child Support Awareness Month in August, DSS is gathering food the entire month of July to distribute to individuals and families in August.”
Harnett County Child Support Division is asking community members to donate canned goods (non-perishable food items) and spread the word for others to learn about this initiative as well.
Individuals interested in donating can drop off canned goods items at the Harnett County Department of Social Services building at 311 W. Cornelius Harnett Boulevard, Lillington. Contributions will be accepted until July 31, 2024.
