HARNETT COUNTY GREENWAY FEASBILITY STUDIES

ABOUT

Harnett County is working with Alta Planning + Design to conduct a feasibility study for creating a greenway trail connections from:

     • Lillington to Campbell University
     • Campbell University to Coats
     • Coats to the Dunn-Erwin Rail Trail

These trail segments were identified as priorities in the 2021 Harnett County Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenway Plan.

This study will identify route alternatives for the proposed greenway and guidance for phased implementation.

The study is guided by a Steering Committee made up of representatives from Harnett County, the Town of Lillington, the Town of Coats, NCDOT, and Campbell University. The study will draw on analysis of existing conditions along the corridor, public and stakeholder input, recommendations from past planning efforts, and ongoing development.

     • Attend the public open house to review and provide comment on draft routing alternatives:

     • Review and send comments on the draft report (Note: the report is currently in development. Check back here for the draft report in summer/fall 2025)
