To apply and file for unemployment insurance benefits visit www.des.nc.gov or call 1 (888) 737-0259. Applicants can visit the NCWorks Career Center-Harnett County at 900 S. 9th Street Lillington, NC 27546 to utilize a computer to file for unemployment benefits and register at www.ncworks.gov to complete work search.
WIOA Title I Adult, Dislocated Workers, NextGen Youth & Young Adults: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act is designed to help jobseekers access to employment opportunities, training, education and support services to succeed in today's labor market and match employers with skilled workers they need to complete in this global economy. WIOA Title I assists Adults and Dislocated Workers serves individuals ages 18 years and older, NextGen Youth & Young Adults serves individuals ages 14 to 24 year old, who are low income, unemployed/underemployed, laid off from job, former offenders/justice involved, pregnant/parenting, homeless, individuals with disabilities, dropouts, basic skills deficient, foster care, and has significant barriers to employment. WIOA provides services with occupational skills training, paid work experience, mileage reimbursement, tuition assistance, support services (books, supplies, fees), financial literacy workshops, labor market information, alternative education, high school equivalency, On-The-Job Training, and leadership development. Applicants can apply for WIOA assistance in person at our office to complete the application process.

- Create or log into your NCWorks account.
- Click on your (menu tab) in the upper left corner of your page.
- In the menu drop down box, locate the tab for (job search) and click on the tab.
- job search screen will appear and you can search for work by keyword ex:(office assistant) and city or click on the tab (Employers) then the key city/county specifics, all of the Employers will job postings inside of the NCWorks along with positions you can review and apply to will be displayed.
- To apply for any positions inside of the NCWorks will have an (apply) button, once you click on that tab you will be directed to that employers website to apply.
Go to www.ncworks.gov.
On the home page, click Sign In.
Under Option 3 – select Create a User Account, click Individual. You will have three registration options. Please select your preferred registration: Comprehensive Registration or Register with a Resume.
Follow the steps and fill in all required (*) fields. Registration is complete when the Welcome page (Dashboard) will appear and you are signed in.
- Go to www.ncworks.gov and click Forgot username/password. Select the option that applies to you. Choose to retrieve username only, password only, or both and click to answer verification questions. If you need additional assistance, proceed to step #2.
- Contact the NCWorks Career Center-Harnett County at 910-893-2191 and request assistance. If you do not reside in Harnett County, you can proceed to step #3.
- To find the nearest NCWorks Career Center near you, go to www.ncworks.gov then enter your zip code in the 'Enter a Zip Code' field. Next, select your Radius and then click 'Search.'
