Temporary Food Establishments
A temporary food establishment is defined as an establishment which operates for 21 days or less, not necessarily consecutively, and in conjunction with a fair, carnival, circus, public exhibition, or other similar gathering. If you are not sure whether or not your event would qualify for this type of permit, contact the Food, Lodging and Institution staff. There is a $75.00 permit fee that must be paid when the application is submitted. The application must be submitted no less than 15 calendar days from the day of the scheduled event. If you believe you are exempt from this fee and permit under NC General Statute 130A-250, you must submit official documentation of your non-profit status.
