Stay Healthy: Get your Flu Shot
As we enter the colder months, the first and most important step in preventing flu is to get an annual flu vaccine. The Health Department provides flu shots Monday-Friday from 8:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm-4:00pm. Flu vaccines are available by appointment and as walk-in visits. Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months of age and older should get a yearly flu vaccine. Some people, such as people 65 years and older, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at higher risk of serious flu complications.
