The purpose of the Board is to hear contested citations arising out of Harnett County’s “Ordinance for Civil Enforcement of North Carolina General Statute § 20-217 By Means of an Automated School Bus Safety Camera Installed and Operated on Any School Bus Within Harnett County.”

Vacancy Requirements

1. Shall be a Harnett County Resident 2. Shall be at least 18 years of age 3. Shall possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license 4. Shall NOT have a criminal traffic conviction in the three years prior to their appointment OR any felony conviction on their record 5. Shall NOT be an active employee of any law enforcement agency OR be an active practicing attorney and shall NOT be a party in a lawsuit or claim against Harnett County 6. MUST be available from (9am – 5pm) every second Wednesday of each month 7. Prefer knowledge of traffic citations, rules, or general procedures 8. Prefer knowledge of or experience in administrative hearings or dispute resolutions

Special Requirements

Members shall consist of one full-time or part-time employee, not including employees of the Harnett County Sheriff's Office, one Harnett County Schools full-time or part-time employee, one Harnett County resident, one Harnett County full-time or part-time employee, not including Harnett County Sheriff's Office to serve as an alternate, one Harnett County School full-time or part-time employee to serve as an alternate, and one Harnett County resident to serve as an alternate.
