Vet Center offer confidential help for Veterans, Service members, and their famlies at no cost in a non-medical setting. Their services include counseling for needs such as depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the psychological effects of military sexual trauma (MST). They can also connect you with more support in VA and your community.
You do not need to be registered for care at the VA, reated for a service connected disability, or receiving any other form of VA benefits. They ask to bring the following documents on your first visit:
- Discharge documents (such as a DD-214)
- Receipt of certain awards
- Deployment orders
- Other documents that shows qualifying military service
If you do not have these documents on-hand, let them know and they can work with you to establish your eligibility and also answer any questions you may have.
