Harnett County Department of Social Services will host Helping Hands of Harnett Community Day for families across Harnett County to learn more about support for families, resources, and County services available to them in a fun and family friendly environment.
Helping Hands of Harnett Community Day will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 18 at the Harnett County Government Complex Commons Area, located at 311 W. Cornelius Harnett Boulevard in Lillington.
Several County departments will be present at the event including Animal Services, Veterans Services, Harnett Area Rural Transit System, Cooperative Extension, Harnett County Public Library, Sheriff’s Office, NCWorks Career, Health Department and Division on Aging.
Local partner organizations including the Harnett County Partnership for Children, Central Carolina Community College, SAFE of Harnett County, NC Food Bank, and Sandhills Center will also be in attendance to provide information on their services.
“We are all facing difficult times, and we believe that people may not be aware of the resources that are always available throughout Harnett County,” stated Harnett County Child Support Enforcement Program Manager Angela Warren. “Our County has many agencies that may be able to offer help to individuals or to families that are in need or offer simple advice for a citizen’s particular situation.”
