November is National Novel Writing Month

Harnett County Public Library to Offer “Write-In” Program

Have you ever thought about writing, but could not find the willpower to dive in? Harnett County Public Library is encouraging teens and adults to “Come Write with Us” and participate in National Novel Writing Month during the month November.

National Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo, is a month designated for writers to take time out of each day to add to their story, so they can start and finish a novel, essay, poem, or newsletter in just 30 days. The goal is to take a fun, creative approach to writing while giving it a time limit to make sure writers finish what they start!

Harnett County Public Library, located at 455 McKinney Parkway in Lillington, has coordinated the following “Write-In” events for teens and adults to work on their personal writing projects.

  • November 1 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • November 6 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • November 13 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • November 20 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • November 22 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • November 30 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

The “Write-In” program allows for drop in writing and no registration is required. For each “Write-In” event attended, participants will be entered into a raffle to win a writing themed gift basket.
