The Harnett County Health Department is working to safely and effectively provide vaccine in accordance with state guidelines. Everyone who wants the vaccine will be given the opportunity to get vaccinated.
Due to the huge response for the COVID-19 vaccine, the Harnett County Health Departments’ phone lines, call center and website are at capacity.
We are requesting everyone to be patient, including those still waiting for callbacks for vaccine appointments. The Health Department staff are working to get people vaccinated as soon as possible, but it will take time.
There are a large number of people in the next group Phase 1B: Adults 75 years or older and eligible health care workers. Vaccinations will be provided by appointment, to schedule a vaccine appointment please call 910-814-6582. The COVID-19 vaccine is available free of charge. Those who are planning to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations with the Health Department will receive the Moderna vaccine.
The timing of the clinics for Phase 1B, will be dependent upon vaccine availability, the weekly dosage allocation received from North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Together, we will reach our goal of ensuring that every resident who wants a COVID-19 vaccination receives one. The Health Department is encouraging residents to follow the public health measures to protect yourself and others by doing the 3 Ws: WEAR a cloth covering over your nose and mouth, WAIT 6 feet apart, and WASH your hands. The combination of getting vaccinated and following 3 Ws to protect yourself and others will offer the best protection from COVID-19.
