With Harnett County being the 14th highest County in North Carolina for agricultural cash receipts and having the plentiful water resource offered by the Cape Fear River to provide Harnett County Public Utilities with the water needed to supply 125,000 people in Harnett and the surrounding region with dependable drinking water each day, the Harnett Soil and Water Conservation District's mission to encourage proactive conservation of our soil and water resources is an important task.
The Harnett Soil and Water Conservation District's Board of Suprvisors and staff take great pride in working within the Soil and Water parntership to promote voluntary, incentive-driven resource management along with providing conservation education to both youth and adults to foster an appreciation of our County's abundant natural resources.
