In an effort to provide enhanced services to Harnett County’s veteran population, Harnett County Veterans Services will begin conducting outreach at locations across the county.
Starting this week, Veterans Services Officers will hold office hours once a week at locations in both eastern and western portions of the county. Office hours will be held from 8 a.m. until noon, and from 1 to 5 p.m. at the following locations:
In eastern Harnett County:
In western Harnett County:
Additionally, Harnett County Veterans Services is open from 8 a.m. until noon, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 817 South 8th Street, Lillington.
Harnett County Veterans Services Officers can provide assistance processing disability claims; requesting service records; processing widow’s, widower’s or surviving civil partner’s pensions; requesting survivors benefits; obtaining aid and attendance, and home loan guarantees.
“Our mission is to serve as an outreach program for veterans and their families in Harnett County who have limited mobility obtain benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the State of North Carolina,” said Veterans Services Director Eric Truesdale.
