How to find the online catalog

  1. www.harnett.org/library
  2. click on VubisSmart

 

 LOG ON -

1.  You will be prompted for Library Card Barcode and PIN – if you do not have a PIN let me know and I will send you one

2.  Once you are logged on you should see your name in a big red bar across the screen.

 

User Activities

You will need your library card number and PIN to use the user activities.  If you have not received a PIN please call/visit the library and ask them to generate one for you.

General Information -  This will be name, address etc.  If this is wrong please send staff an email to correct.

 Reservations

    Place items on reserve.

  1. Search for the item you would like to place on reserve
  2. Once you find the item and are in the details of the record there will be a column of buttons on the left.  The bottom button is [Reserve].  Click it.
  3. If you are not logged in you will be prompted for user library card number and PIN.
  4. You will be able to select a reservation area (where do you want the item to come from).  If you do not select an area the system will choose one for you.
  5. You will be able to choose a pick-up location (where do you want to pick up the item).  The default pickup location is your home library.
  6. If you would like the system to send you an email when the item is available check "Pick up message by e-mail". 
  7. Click the Make Reservation button to finish.
  8. You should get a message “Your reservation has been accepted”, select OK to exit the screen.

     To check your reservations

  1. Click on [User Activities] button in the left column
  2. “My reservations” will show the reservation you just placed.
    1. You can change pickup location here if you wish.
    2. Make sure you [confirm modifications] after you make a change.
    3. You can also cancel a reservation here.

 

Renew items

  1. Click [Loan/renewal] button in the left column.
  2. All items on loan will show here
  3. If renewal is possible it will show here.
    1. Items can only be renewed once
    2. Items cannot be renewed on the day they are originally loaned.

 SDI – allows you to be notified when an item is available

  1. Search for an item
    1. Example:  Author Steel, Danielle
  2. Click [SDI] in the left column
  3. Name query, type name in the blank
  4. Click [save changes]

     To view SDI

1.      Click [User Activities] button in the left column

2.      Clcik [Alerting Services]
